Hey everyone I'm not quite dead yet. I've gotten through midterms, so that's good. I got two 100%'s on two of my midterms and I missed one question on another. So I'm doing well in the GPA aspect. I understand that I will get into the honor society after next quarter if my grades hold up. It'll be good for the resume if nothing else.

I did get approved for worker retraining. However, I was supposed to get an extra six months of unemployment. I am appealing that since I don't have certifications. I am not sure what will I am going to do if it gets denied.

I filed a loss of income form for Alex's financial aid and I am waiting to hear back about that. I am not sure if I would get a refund since I paid that out, or if it gets credited to her financial aid for the year. To be honest, I am not exactly sure how it is supposed to work at all. I know that it will help pay tuition and books. I gather that sometimes there is money over and above that. I'm not sure if that is supposed to cover things like programs or computer equipment or something else.

I know that when I filed the FASFA form that I qualify for a Pell grant. I also asked to be put on the list for work study so that I can earn a bit of cash to pay bills with. I've contacted the internship person to get that process started. I hope that an internship will help me network enough that I can get offered a job before I graduate. I think they would be more willing to work with me as far as continuing my education is concerned. Many tech companies will help to pay my tuition which would be a big help.

I really want to continue on to a four year degree of some sort. I can go three ways, and I am not sure which way to go. I am hoping that I can get a few internships (preferably paid, but there is no guarantee of that) that will let me see what I like in order for me to figure out which direction to continue on in.

I figure with 20 years with the phone company, I could easily get a communications degree. I am not wedded to that though. My former employer turned me off to a lot of the cool things that I did. I realize that was really the new company that came in, I know many my co-workers regret that I am gone, but upper management doesn't give a rip about anyone or anything other than how much they can line their pockets with. (No, I'm not bitter at allllllll, yeah right).

I could continue on at South and get a four year network administration degree. I am not sure if I can take a concentration or not, but I do have an interest in network security and planning networks. It seems from the list of classes available, that a network admin is really a jack of all trades. I've already registered for next quarter, and I have database 1 (as in how to create and maintain), networking 3 (there is no 2) and operating systems (Windows 1) I get Linux spring quarter. I'm interested in Linux since I've used string commands and what not, but I have never used the actual operating system. I didn't want to take it online because I believe I do better with a facilitator rather than just looking at words on a screen. I need someone to bounce things off of to make sure I have the right understanding.

The other degree I could pursue is computer science. I did a lot of systems analysis, methods and procedures, documentation, training, system requirements, testing and troubleshooting etc when I was doing optical Ethernet and frame relay.

I need to contact the continuing education folks (haven't done that yet) to see if the program where I am going to school now will get me prepared for a PMI test (project manager international) It's supposed to be better than a PMP. I will have to see how finances work out. I am not sure how all of this is going to play out. Supposedly, I can get reimbursed for books and tuition for 3 years from my former employer. I can't submit anything until I've passed the class though. It's the same for certification tests apparently. I will need to make sure that I am good and ready to take them. If anyone has links to good free practice tests, I would be grateful. I really don't have the extra money for other than essentials right now. School stuff counts as an essential.

I do have some software questions for those in the know. I will need to take web design 1 and 2 (probably within the next couple of quarters) It's my understanding that I will need to use Photoshop, Lightroom, and Dreamweaver. I can get Photoshop and lightroom online and use cloud storage for 10.00 a month. It's apparently a student discount that I get. I know that I can get Visual Basic for free on Dreamspark. It would expire after 18 months from what I gather. That should be more than enough time for me to become familiar with it for the class(es?) That I will need it for.

I am really leery of using a web app. Alex has expressed interest in Lightroom before. I think I would rather have the program disk even though the initial outlay would be more. I think its something that would get continual use. Someone told me that it was only available as a web GUI, but I have seen it on disk when I did a search online. I don't know what/if it is the latest version, which is what I would need for school. Would someone that uses it be willing to give me more info?

I have Photoshop 7 and it serves me well for what I do with it. I use it mainly to resize pictures for upload. Alex uses it quite a bit. I am not really sure what we would be using it for in class. All I know is that one of my classmates that has web design this quarter said I would need both. Would it be better for me to get the latest and greatest? So far, all the programs I've used at school are whatever the newest release is. I don't even know what version Photoshop is on now. I would need to budget it in now so that I will be able to afford it in the future when I take the classes.

I've talked to some folks who use a program called SAI. I think you have to have one of those drawing tablets to use it though. I gather that I'd have to use school equipment for the classes since I doubt I could afford one.

Other than the school stuff, I've not had much of a life. I've not blown through my severance yet, so that's a good thing. Money is going to continue to be a huge worry. I am hoping that Mike gets made permanent at his job sometime in December. He should have health coverage, which will allow me to drop the Cobra. The agency that is paying him until he becomes permanent (its a temp to perm position) wants 200 a week (800 a month) for health insurance. There is no way that we would be able to pay that premium and afford the rest of our bills. I'm paying 250 a month for subsidized cobra. I have that until August. My unemployment has been paying the house payment for now, and I've been dipping into severance to pay water and electric. I hate doing it, but it is what savings is for. So things are so tight that mice can't squeak at my place. This is going to make the holidays interesting to say the least. We are going to have Mike's mom over for thanksgiving and we are not going to Mike's sister's place for Christmas. We have picked up a few things for the kids this summer, although I know Alex needs clothes. Jason is getting more leggy, but his width hasn't gotten bigger. I have tall and stocky, and short and wiry. Definitely not your average combination for sure.

I wasn't able to really do anything for my 50th. Normally, that kind of thing doesn't really matter. It really bothered me that I couldn't do anything this year. I did get my retirement gift from work. It is a gift card that you can use in only a couple of places, the vast majority of which are places I don't shop at. I ended up getting a couple of pairs of shoes. My shoes are expensive as all get out because I have weird feet. It's nearly impossible to find shoes made on a straight last. It's impossible finding dress shoes, unless you have them custom made. I know of a cobbler shop that does custom shoes downtown, but I don't have 3-500 to spend on a pair of plain pumps. Maybe one day, but that day isn't today.

In animal news, Kayla did earn her canine good citizen (I don’t remember if I mentioned that.) When I get back to working, I want to get her more training. We had picked up another dog, Honey last year. I believe I did write about that. Sara decided to breed honey as her temperament was just too good to pass up. She had a single puppy Danu. We were doing a breed swap with the breeder. So, he has gone to live with her for the time being. Unfortunately, about a month after Danu went to the breeder, Honey had somehow had a ruptured degenerative disc. We had the vet do surgery, but she died the next day. We were told this is a fluke because Honey was only 4. This tends to happen in dogs that are way older, and this is the first instance that they know of in Chinooks. The breeder says we have first dibs on Danu once she is done showing and breeding him. We get to baby sit him when she has to go out of town and what not too. We just had him a bit ago for socialization. He’s really sweet and cuddly. He was starting to pick things up and hand them to someone before he left. He would make a good service dog at some point.

Gatsby is her old cranky kitty self. She’s about 11 or 12 now (we think) we switched her to little old lady cat food. She still runs the roost as far as the dogs go. Kayla avoids her like the plague. Danu wanted to play with her, he hadn’t gotten the message that when a cat hisses at you and goes at you with her claws, and she doesn’t want to play. Danu is nice, but he doesn’t seem to have any self preservation skills whatsoever. Another friend who raises Chinooks brought her latest puppy over to learn some cat respect. I’m not sure how well that worked. We’ll see.

On the medical front, we *FINALLY* got Jason’s wheelchair replaced. It took over 2 years. I do not recommend Group Health for the chronically ill. I understand that they have a good program for those on medicare/medicaide, and they are great for preventative care. Otherwise, they are nothing but a hassle.

Jason is coming close to the end of his back surgeries. The doc wants to wait 6 months to see how he’s doing and then they will decide when his next one will be. They figure that he will have one or two more before they have to decide anything. At that time, they will have to decide if they are going to do a definitive fusion, or if they are going to leave the current rods in his back.

He has acquired figure 8 rings for his fingers to prevent them from hyper extending. They are odd looking things, but they do work. I need to contact his regular doctor to see about getting him hooked up with a regular OT outside of school. If the doc agrees, I will have to figure out how to get him there and back. Hopefully this will be after school for both him and me. I am not sure how this is going to work out at all. I’ve had to drop the swimming that he had been doing as part of his therapy because of the lack of funds. While I want to do as much for him as I can, I have to make sure the bills are paid etc. It’s a fine dividing line. The hours that Mike is working has made it so that it’s near impossible to get him to the therapy pool on time anyway.

The other thing he has is called an obturator. It’s a structure that is built off of a retainer that has a bulb like thingy on the end of it to help close his pharynx off when he talks. He is going through the process of building it out. He’s been a right pain about keeping it in his mouth though. He had snuck it out and put it in his pocket and snapped it. We just had it fixed, so he will be wearing it to school tomorrow. He’s not really happy about it, but they aren’t ready to try surgery on him yet. They may not do jaw surgery on him, so any less surgeries he has, the better.

Jason graduated from 8th grade last school year. He has a lot of admirers. He received a perseverance award at school last year. He is kind of funny in that he doesn’t invite people over to hang out or anything like that. It seemed like a good number of girls and a few of the boys wanted to get their picture taken with him though. I don’t know if he is an extroverted introvert or what.

I know, it’s been forever. LJ doesn’t like https anywhere, so it won’t let me post. I am loading this in a different browser because of this. I do read on a daily basis. Hardly anyone ever posts there anymore. I doubt anyone reads. I have a Dreamwidth account, as well as Diaspora and G+. I don’t really pay much attention to G+ unless someone points me to it though. The DW address is http://beki-d.dreamwidth.org . Diaspora is beki@diasp.org.

I know that most of you wondered why I dropped off the face of the planet. I knew when the new company took over, that my department’s days were numbered. All I was getting offered was contract work. I couldn’t take that because I had to have health insurance for Jason. Fast forward to now, my last day of work was the 15th of August. I hear they have a group of about 25 people left until the official closure.

I can say a lot has changed in the past 20 years since I last looked for work. I’ve been frustrated in that a lot of what I do requires a compu sci degree to apply. So, I am not qualified to do a similar job, even though I can and have done the work.

I find a lot of job websites really annoying. They don’t seem to allow for commensurate experience. A lot of the work I’d done is sort of a cross between a systems analyst and SOQ/system tester. If you don’t click the ticky box saying you have a compu sci degree, the sites won’t let you proceed further. If you click the ticky box, you won’t get hired because you lied on your application.

I think I am going to go back to school. I get an education benefit as part of my layoff package. It’s good for 3k for the next three years. It’s not much, but it’s better than a kick in the pants. (I already got that.. bitter? You betcha!) I have a modest severance, but it’s not going to be enough to pay for the family’s expenses. I have no idea how that is going to work out. Unemployment will let me collect benefits for a year rather than 6 months. It’s not a lot, but it’s better than nothing. Workforce will help pay for classes, but I think that’s only for a year.

Mike was let go from his job back in October of last year. He got a new job with Providence Medical. However, he won’t be permanent until December. I hope that he will have decent benefits. He’s making better money than he did with his old job, but it’s still not enough to support the family. I used to be the main support of the family, so I’m really freaking out. I believe he makes too much for us to qualify for social services of any sort, so I am concerned as to how I am going to make the bills. I don’t have credit card debt, so that is a positive at least. I’ve not had one in years and I think I am in a better financial position for it… not that that is saying much.

Alex starts college this year as well. I’m going to have to add an addendum to her financial aid form in October. That will be a help next quarter. I don’t think it will help me now. Alex can’t touch her school money until she is 21. So it should be available to her when she transfers to a four year school. It doesn’t help her now though. I am hoping I can do this, but I really don’t know how.

Why in the bloody hell can I not post on the Callahanian page? I used to be able to. I realize the post I put up last night never got there, and I made a comment to Pernishus, and it didn't load either. :(

I know it’s been forever since I updated. Things are their usual mess. My router is going, so I’ve been posting to FB on my phone when I post at all. Work is still up in the air as far as the contract goes. We still have no contract since October. See link here: http://seattletimes.com/html/localnews/2020356873_apcocenturylinkstrike.html I’m still looking for other work. I get nibbles for contract work and butt loads of insurance companies want sales people, nothing for permanent employment that is remotely close to work I am experienced in. The work I am doing currently is entry level work. There is a huge difference between provisioning high end circuits (my old job) and taking credit card payments. Maybe I am looking for the wrong kind of work. If anyone wants to see a copy of my resume, let me know where to send it. I am open to feedback.

The medical front has been a mess. Jason had a workup with neuro psych this past week. He has dyslexia, dyscalculia, and dysgraphia. He has issues focusing. We agreed to do a medication trial for a year to see if that helps with his focusing issue. We get the full report in a month or so. I realize that if the meds work that he won’t become a sudden Einstein or anything like that. I think that Jason knows he doesn’t know a lot of the things his peers do, so he kind of bluffs it off. His teachers really don’t push him. As long as he is not a problem for them, they gloss over him.

My latest big issue with insurance is Jason’s wheelchair. Back in April, his physiatrist (a specialist in rehab medicine) wrote him a prescription for a new wheelchair. They denied the claim and we appealed it. It was denied again. I have filed a complaint with the insurance commission. One of my co workers knows the insurance commissioner and suggested I contact him via FB. I may do that since I’ve already filed a complaint. Jason’s doc said that it is insurance malpractice. Apparently there are different criteria for kids than for adults. Basically, they don’t want to replace a piece of medical equipment that he already has. I may end up calling the governors office as well to see what they can do if anything.

You know you are in the right when the doctor involved is telling you to get a lawyer… and is willing to do whatever it takes including going to court to get the job done so to speak.

I don’t really seem to have much of a life outside of all of that. I’m either looking for work (filling out applications and the like) working, or doing something else hospital/medical related. I did go to Shipwreck beads out in Lacey with some friends when they came to town. I’ve still not gotten rocks to use as bases for the trees I’ve made. I’d like to as I’d like to see how well they’d sell on Etsy or some other site. I find them relaxing, and I’d be able to use what little profit to either buy more supplies to make more, or if they do well enough, enough to put back to pay for house repairs and what not. We’ll have to see what happens.

Does anyone local to me know of a good resume service? What do you all think of online resume services? There is a current groupon for a place called JC Resumes, and I've tried to Google up reviews, but I don't see any. Does anyone have preferences? I am trying to invest in myself a bit more as I can afford it (I really can't afford not to) I figure it's time to try to do something different. Suggestions would be helpful.

Before I forget, one of the nurses at the clinic has a bionic arm. Jason asked him if he was the six million dollar man. The nurse replied that the costs have come down quite a bit since bionic man version 1.0. How cool is that?

PLEASE PASS THIS ON! i've shared on FB and a couple forums and hardly anyone else is--that bothers me on some level. we DON'T need this kind of censoring to be passed!!!

Originally posted by colonoscarpeay at CISPA is the new SOPA

Here's their next move: The Cyber Intelligence Sharing and Protection Act, or CISPA, would obliterate any semblance of online privacy in the United States.

And CISPA would provide a victory for content owners who were shell-shocked by the unprecedented outpouring of activism in opposition to SOPA and Internet censorship.

The House of Representatives is planning to take up CISPA later this month. Click here to ask your lawmakers to oppose it.

SOPA was pushed as a remedy to the supposed economic threat of online piracy -- but economic fear-mongering didn't quite do the trick.

So those concerned about copyright are engaging in sleight of hand, appending their legislation to a bill that most Americans will assume is about keeping them safe from bad guys.

This so-called cyber security bill aims to prevent theft of "government information" and "intellectual property" and could let ISPs block your access to websites -- or the whole Internet.

Don't let them push this back-door SOPA. Click here to demand that your lawmakers oppose CISPA.

CISPA also encourages companies to share information about you with the government and other corporations.

That data could then be used for just about anything -- from prosecuting crimes to ad placements.

And perhaps worst of all, CISPA supercedes all other online privacy protections.

Please click here to urge your lawmakers to oppose CISPA when it comes up for a vote this month.

Thanks for fighting for the Internet.

Toys R Us redux

I got a call from Eddie in customer service. He says that I need to go to a store near me and which one would that be (I told him Bellevue since we'd been to Tukwila and they were out of stuff) I had a family function that day (Mike's family were doing their Christmas thing) so I couldn't take care of it then, but could they do that tomorrow (which is now today)

Then he called the manger of the store and they were going to put on hold the stuff I hadn’t been able to get and then take my original confirmation and the receipt from the previous evening when we got him some things and they would honor the original sale price and give me 10% off.

So, I have a friend take me to the Bellevue store and ask to speak to the manager as I’d been directed. The folks there had never heard of Eddie from corporate. Per their corporate headquarters they do not match black Friday prices etc. when things come up missing like mine did. To make a long story short (ok this isn’t really short, but you get it) it turns out Eddie in customer service called the Tukwila store and spoke to the manager there.

It turns out that Eddie in customer service called the Tukwila store and made arrangements with them instead of Bellevue. So I went to Tukwila. The folks there bent over backwards so I have no reason to complain. Someone told me the online store is not run by the folks who run the brick and mortar toy stores. There is apparently enough of this crap going around that it is their policy from corporate that they don't match black Friday purchases such as mine when they screw up.

The manager at the Tukwila store not only matched the prices on my confirmation, she found a few things that were on the list that they still had (they had a shipment come in that morning) and she gave me those at the black Friday price with an additional 10% off. I ended up with 2.00 back after all was said and done. The upshot is that Jason is going to have a decent Christmas and I’m thoroughly worn out. I do need to write the corporate folks again to give kudos where they are due. I’m too wiped out to do that right now though. I will tomorrow for sure.

Ps. I'm not going to be going there for a looong time, if ever again. This was ridiculous.

For those who aren't following me on FB, I am not happy with Toys R Us right now. I placed an online order on black Friday and it has never been fulfilled. When I called to enquire about it, the person on the phone ended up having to step away for a minute and left me on hold for a good 10-15 minutes until I abandoned the call. I'd sent one email and I heard back from them today. I think they really don't get it.

My original email to them:

I placed an order with your company on 11-28-11, order number 7752037508. I called customer service this evening and was told that your company had no record of my order. As of today, I have received no communication from you that my items have been shipped or my order canceled by your company.

I called your Customer Service team and was met with incompetence and rudeness. There seemed to be no record of my order, and when I asked who I could send the confirmation to, I was told there was no such email address. When I asked about the billing of the items, I was placed on hold and I abandoned the call after about 10 minutes as it appeared that your representative was not going to come back to the call. I am most dissatisfied with my treatment at the hands of your company and would like this order fulfilled and shipped FedEx at your expense at the sales prices listed on my order confirmation below.

Their response:

I apologize for any inconvenience you have encountered. After researching your online order, I was not able to locate your order. Do to a technical issue in our system, you did receive a confirmation email verifying your online order, however after that confirmation email, the system removed your order. We are working diligently to correct the technical glitch, however this may take time. I do apologize on behalf of Toys"R"Us/Babies"R"Us.

My latest response, which I copied to the CEO:

Thank you for acknowledging my issue. You have not addressed what Toys R Us is going to do to resolve it. Are you going to honor my latest request and Fed Ex me the items that were on my confirmation at the company's expense, with the price I was quoted on my confirmation? Can I take my confirmation to a Toys R Us store near me to have them fulfill my order with the sales prices listed on my confirmation? Or is the company going to do nothing to make it right? I need to know, as Christmas is a week away.

I realize you have bought out most of the major toy companies in the United States, like FAO Schwartz and Kay-Bee. Being the biggest isn't necessarily the best. In my research, I show you've had similar issues to mine in past years. Is it any wonder your market share is falling? I shop early for the toys my my child wants as he is physically disabled and there are few things he can play with. If I don't buy early, I run the risk of him not receiving a gift that he can play with due to his numerous healthcare issues. I buy toys twice a year, his birthday and Christmas as his medical expenses are many. I would expect that you as a company would have enough back up servers to handle the black Friday rush. Yet, I have found complaints similar to mine year after year. I ordered in good faith. I would expect a solution, not a hollow apology and a thank you very much for your business.

I doubt they are going to do anything since the research I've seen online leads me to believe they aren't going to do squat, but at least I've tried. Meh.

[01 Oct 2011|08:12pm]
Let’s see.. When I last posted we still hadn’t had the meeting with the lawyer and the district. Let’s say that was a whole lot of fun (not) but entertaining in other ways to say the least.

This was the largest meeting we’ve had with the district to date. Usually we are lucky if we get 5 people. We had 15. The lawyer we had last year must not have been that great since we had the special ed teacher and the district’s lawyer. This year, we had not only the district’s lawyer, we had the assistant director of special ed, the head of assistive technology, the special ed teacher, a general ed teacher, the assistant principal, the school shrink, a supervisor from the therapy department as well as the usual compliment of teachers, therapists , etc.

Mike whispered to the lawyer, I’ve never seen so many people at one of these things. The lawyer smiled angelically and said that’s because I’m here. She had something of a Cheshire cat grin. I kind of got the impression she was having fun at the district’s expense.

I got to talk first to explain why we called for the meeting. I don’t think they liked that I was clear, concise, and to the point. It’s the same thing I’ve been saying for years, they just had to actually listen. I pointed out that Jason was way far behind, more so than should be explained by his medical absences. I further ventured the suggestion that it was in large part due to his communication issues. He had a vantage box in kindergarten/first grade. However, he never had homework with it, and the vast majority of the time it was locked up at school where he didn’t have the opportunity to use it or practice with it.

I went on to voice the fact that in the past his teachers didn’t appear to teach him anything until 5th grade. That was the first year the kid had so much as spelling words to take home. That could be in part due to the fact that it’s hard to call on someone if you can’t understand the answer, or if you don’t understand the question they are asking you.

Personally, I get the impression that at least one of his teachers was overwhelmed, and a couple of teachers were intimidated by Jason’s disability. I did not say, but could have easily voiced the opinion that some of them were plain lazy too. As far behind as he is, they should have pointed out the fact years ago and taken steps to try to correct it. They shouldn’t have passed him on to begin with. I personally believe that they were for the most part passing him on to be someone elses problem.

I have to review Jason’s medical plan and go over it for the nurse. For some reason the one Jason had didn’t follow him. I presented them (again!) with his shot records, his doctors notes regarding feeding, his therabyte, and his wheelchair.

We voiced some additional concerns about safety since Jason is so much smaller than the other kids, also he has some classes on the 3rd floor. That floor has no access to the outside, so how are they going to get him out of there in case of flood, fire, or alien invasion etc.

The augmentative communication person said oh I hope this (the communications piece) would come up again (!?) as if! She said that Jason’s teachers couldn’t support assistive tech in the class. No, they could have, but they chose not to. I didn’t say that in the meeting though. She went on to talk about several new toys they have. I think she should do an evaluation to see what works best with him before going into tech wanderlust. I was hoping to get him in with the tech person at Children’s, but my insurance wouldn’t cover it. The district doesn’t want anyone to farm anything outside of their sphere of influence. I gather from talking to folks who I know in local academia the school district has what seems like an inferiority complex about going outside of their direct sphere of influence.

I was left with the impression with the tech people that the reason they were “happy” was more one of “Oops we got caught, I guess we will have to do something” as opposed to they truly couldn’t support that. I had also suggested teaching him some sign to help with communication breakdowns, and they shot that down because their teachers would have to learn it. So what if not everyone knows sign? It’s just one more avenue of communication that could help him convey his ideas etc. That doesn’t mean he has to sign exclusively.

We briefly went over what the nurse had as far as his medical stuff. She does make sure he gets his therabyte. They tended to not do it at his old school, and they often forgot to tube feed him too.

Jason’s lawyer was pushing for getting him into at least one general ed class. The school balked at that. They would have been happy with sticking him in a corner somewhere to forget about him. They instead have to modify the curriculum for a general ed class for Jason. The lawyer insisted Jason keep his TA position in the library. For him it would be fun, and he gets a little vocational experience to boot. It’s more to get him into the mind set that he can do something to help others. I don’t think he has that issue, apparently a lot of disabled kids do. It will help him feel a bit more grown up and independent though.

The lawyer suggested that they give Jason a full time aid again since the district snuck in a reduction of hours for Jason’s aid last year. He needs an aid mostly to get him in between classes and for his general ed class. While the lawyer didn’t say anything untoward, I get the impression that the folks at the district were afraid she’d sue their socks off if Jason was bullied in the halls etc. I am not complaining about that mind you. I don’t think that my concerns on that score are overblown. He is the size of your average 3rd grader.

We’ve asked for and are getting weekly progress reports. They are still using his planner, but the aid’s writing is so small Sara can’t read it, and I have trouble reading it since they write almost as bad as I do. But, we are seeing some communication from the school at least. My experience has been that elementary school teachers don’t like using email. Middle school a few tech savvy teachers will use it, and high school uses email as a communication tool fairly frequently.

We are going to reconvene in about a month or so to totally revamp his IEP. I’ve got a bunch of paperwork that I’ve filled out etc. They are going to give Jason another 3 year re-evaluation (this is required, so it’s no biggie) so we are pushing for it to be done now instead of later so that way the district can pinpoint what he needs better. I know the lawyer will be going over it too, so that way they will be forced to come clean and offer solutions as to what they can offer him.

How weird is this? I can make posts (apparently). I can see my pictures. I can see LJ's front page. The one thing I can't do is read my freaking friends page!
